Fukushima Prefecture is one of the nation's leading producers of medical devices, and it strives to become one of the world's biggest centers for medicine and related industries.
Medical devices, which are more important now than ever on a worldwide scale, are being made right here in Fukushima.
"BEAT" is a product that re-creates realistic cardiac pulses, and "YOUCAN" is a blood vessel model. Together, these two products enable coronary artery bypass surgery training.
Both were developed and manufactured by EBM Corporation, whose president Young-Kwang Park believes that taking on new challenges and inspiring younger generations by working hard will in turn motivate subsequent generations down the line, eventually leading to Fukushima's recovery and revitalization.
This video explores how made-in-Fukushima medical devices are sent out from Fukushima to Japan and the rest of the world.
